False Cypress, 10 x 8", Oil on Canvas, 2011. This image is from a series of plein air paintings done at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, close to Pasadena, California. After painting some irises and bamboo, directly opposite this view, I pivoted my easel and found this majestic tree with its lovely blue boughs. The Huntington is an artists dream. I could have painted for years with the variety of gardens and views afforded by their well kept grounds. Availablealla prima (225), California (57), Huntington (9), landscape (177), plein air (318).
