A Negative View on Saloons, 16 x 12", Oil on Linen, 2014. The Outdoor Painter’s Society (OPS) hosted their Southwest Salon in April 2014. The artists who were juried into this prestigious show had the opportunity to participate in a quick draw, plein air, paint out competition. I, along with the other artists, met at Heritage Village in Dallas, Texas. Painting began at 9:30 an ended promptly at 11:30. The wet paintings were then framed and hung along with the rest of the show at Southwest Gallery. I was honored that my painting won Artist Choice, which is a particular honor as it is conferred upon me by my peers.
