Crawfish are a fun theme for me to paint. Normally, I paint from a still life setup. This one I painted from photographs in the studio. Priorities being what they are, I just couldn’t keep from eating those suckers.
I moved from Louisiana to Texas in 1995, but I still long for the seasons first crawfish boil when spring rolls around. These little mudbugs are sitting on a Times-Picayune, the New Orleans iconic newspaper that has been in print since 1837.
