14 x 18", oil on linen, 2014. Sold.
This painting started in a life painting group that I meet with at the Woodlands Art League Gallery in The Woodlands, Texas. Morgan Starr, the model, came with her costume and those lovely, lovely, golden locks. Though the dress was a vivid red, I’ve kept the hues similar to the background colors so they support the face, hair, and chest without distracting from them.
The strips are just "black" on the original toned background. I chose the title to represent the character Lucie Manette from "A Tale of Two Cities" who is often referred to as a "golden thread" for her compassion and love that transforms those around her.
