Painted during the Yellowstone Plein Air Invitational 2019. They don't call her Old Faithful for nothing. Every 90 minutes of so, she erupts and puts on a show. I painted the surrounding area and mixed a big pile of "water color" on my palette. Then when she erupted, I could respond to what was happening with vigorous brush strokes. It was a lot of fun!!
