Abby, 6x6", oil on wood panel, 2016. This painting is part of a series of one-hour studies done with a live model. I regularly meet with other artists to paint from life. Artists from The Woodlands Art League meet on Monday mornings at a community center in my town. They paint for three hours, but I can only make the last two 20min sessions due to a prior commitment. I'm using those sessions to paint small 6x6" paintings in a quick, gestural fashion. It's been a good exercise for me. Also new to me is painting on wood panels that I shellac. I will use this surface more. I like the automatic warm tone of the wood and the slick surface the shellac provides. Available
